AWAKEN (Kuwait) is a community-building program and festival developed to bring together people from different backgrounds in a safe space to connect and explore personal biases, paving the way towards a more resilient and compassionate society.
I was tasked to create a design direction, branding and social media templates for the festival's 2020 look. Having attended the 2019 festival myself, I was aware of the beautiful aim of the team and how they worked hard to build bridges within the various fragmented communities in Kuwait. So I focused on visually bringing out the festival's primary focus which is - bringing people together in a safe space.
For this, I have created an entire design language, which is a blend of vibrant colors and shapes. The shapes and colors are flexible enough to be applied across all the events that will be carried out through the entire year with various combinations. The 'speech bubble' motif captures the essence of the festival in its entirety.
