Eesti Rahvusringhääling (Estonian Public Broadcasting) mobile app is a hub for all national TV and radio channels. I liked the idea of a start page but the overall navigation could be more understandable. There should be a clear indication as to where I currently am and the search functionality should always be accessible. ERR channels all have their separate apps which have a nice design but they are missing most of the functionality.

I designed a unified and usable ERR app based on ETV and its application design. I took inspiration from Go3 and Netflix mobile apps. In my mind two functions are paramount for the user: seeing what programme is currently airing and browsing and searching programmes.

In my first iteration I used icons. "Home" to browse programmes, "TV" to watch live TV, along with search and account functionality.

In the second iteration I found room for simplification. By keeping icons in one place there is more space for content. Home page shows the currently airing programme and allows you to browse. Search functionality is easily accessible and there's a back button. TV guide can be accessed in the menu and channel selection should be more intuitive (by using a drop down arrow).
