For my final major project I created a graphic design response to raise awarness for the worthy cause of donating blood. I developed a brand to entice the chosen target audience of students to donate blood.
I met with Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (N.I.B.T.S.) and arranged for their mobile blood unit to come to the Magee Campus of University of Ulster. Through making contact with N.I.B.T.S. I found that demand for blood is increasing all the time and currently only 6% of Northern Ireland's population gives blood. This statistic signifies how few people are aware of how this important act can be to saving lives, as a pint of your donated blood can go towards saving three different peoples lives.
I used guerrilla marketing to entice students to donate by creating Pint Glasses / Tankers / Beer mats and poster that would be given in a gift bag to potential donaters, all carring the message that one pint can save three lives.
