People have “shadows” or a part of ourselves that we do not easily show others because it represents the qualities that we dislike. How do we reveal our true selves and seek validation of our sufferings in a life filled with criticisms and judgments? My senior capstone project illustrates a girl who learns how to move forward in a judgmental world after revealing her shadow to her partner in hopes of seeking validation of her pain, to which her partner reacts in a way that breaks the main character’s spirit.
