I wanted to keep my poster more of a cartoon and vintage aesthetic to embody my visions of space when I was a kid, by doing this I believe it made my poster come to life. In addition, I wanted the travel method to be by spaceship since it’s something that majority of people never get to do and would be the best kind of travel to enter space to see all the stars and planets. I zoomed in on the astronaut and moon because I wanted to show off the details of each part of my poster. I was very proud of this since this was one of my first times making vector art in Adobe Illustrator.During my process of constructing my travel poster I found that the pen tool worked extremely well for me to trace images that I could not draw on my own. For instance, I took some elements from an astronaut image and traced them using the pen tool and then distorted them on my own to make them fit the cartoon aesthetic of my poster. For the background of my image I used the blob tool to create cloud like shapes and placed them on top of each other, I messed around with the leading layer to make depth in the clouds in order to put on shape in front of another. In addition, the pathfinder tool helped me make the sinking hole at the bottom of my poster as I layered circles and united them and deleted what I didn’t want of the circle until I ended up with my desired piece.
