Comic Book Logos

A few of the logos I've made for different comic books.  Some of them published, some of them long gone.

Personally, I feel that the rules of logo design are stretched and bent when working on a comic book logo, which makes it a little tricky: Can't be such a perfect logo that it doesn't lend itself to the medium, can't be too loud that its a bad logo, but it's gotta land right in between.  Loud enough to pop off of art, not too loud that it looks bad against art.

-PeZ!
XANDER had a few iterations, all of them way too busy. Dialing it back to this made it a sleek, modern logo, without being too trendy. This one was "hand drawn" in Photoshop, then vectorized and cleaned in Illustrator.
The Righteous None was a fun one.  A callback to the old western logos, like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.  Trying to capture a mild feel of a horror story, and also a western was a little tricky for me, but i think it's enough to make you at least curious about the story
TAEIYOS is constantly mispelled, and mispelled often! the graphic in the back was the hardest thing about this logo!
SOL SURVIVOR is one of my proudest achievements to date. Written by Fred Packard and Joshua Valliere, illustrated fully by me, Pez. I was also book editor and designer, and making this logo was me dotting the i. This started as very badly hand written idea on the back of an index card [see below] but I was able to make one of my favorite logos.
BILLY THE FACE was a cyberpunk western named after the protagonist. They called him "the face" because he was a clone and clones had weird faces at the time he was created, A violent, action packed, existential and super promising project by Johnny Segura III. I hope it gets new life some day!!
another one for Johny Segura III, but I can't much remember the premise of this story...outside of a possible story involving a demon and it's redemption
