Since 2018, Alexander Cherkassky has been the senior director and franchise lead of Fluidigm Inc., where he is responsible for developing life cycle tools, among other duties.
The company recently announced the completion of its InstruNor AS acquisition, with Fluidigm spending $7.2 million in cash and stock on the sample preparation system developer. Fluidigm also notes that the immediate market for the firm’s products could be $225 million per year, with industry experts suggesting that the overall mass cytometry market is growing by double digits.
John-Erik Hassel, who co-founded InstruNor, stated that the team is excited to join Fluidigm, as well as capitalize on the company’s existing capabilities across manufacturing, marketing, and in other areas.
Fluidigm also says that InstruNor will be absorbed into its existing mass cytometry business, and expects it to be beneficial to earnings as early as 2021.
