يطلق على منطقة المكس" بفينيسيا الاسكندرية"، لان المياه تغمرها من كل مكان
The El Max area is called "Venice of Alexandria", because the water is running through it.
فهى تقع فى نقطة التقاء البحر الابيض المتوسط مع نهر النيل . مما يجعلها مدينة استثنائية جمعت بين البحر والنهر . فى مشهد طبيعى يجمع بين عذوبة مياه النهر وملوحة البحر فى مكان واحد فخلق هذا المزج مدينة جديدة تجمع بين الاثنين وهذا الموقع المميز للمدينة فرض عليها منذ زمن بعيد مهن معينة وجعل من لاهلها سمات مميزة تنفرد بها عن باقى المدن البحرية التى تقع على ساحل البحر الابيض المتوسط
It is located at the meeting point of the Mediterranean with the Nile. This makes it an exceptional city that combined the sea and the river. In a natural scene that combines the sweetness of river water and the salinity of the sea in one place, this mixture created a new city that combined the two, This distinctive location of the city imposed on it a long time ago certain professions and made its people distinct features unique to it from the rest of the marine cities located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
قديماً كانت المكس جسور من التواصل .. والجميع هنا يعلم ان هنا الزمان ..فالمكان كان شاهد عيان عن أحداث وسفن عابرة منذ أزمنة غابرة .
In the past, el max was bridges of communication.. and everyone here knows that here is the time .. the place was an eyewitness of passing events and ships since ancient times.
البيوت والحائط تعيش معانا كل يوم ويربطنا بها الذكريات التي تحدث داخل هذه البيوت لكن بمجرد هدمها او تكون مهجورة قد تصبح الذكريات منسية
Houses and walls live with us daily and remind us of the memories that happen inside the houses.
Once this house and walls are demolished, our memories become forgotten.
على الرغم من أنه قد يكون من الصعب رؤيته وسط الغبار وتقشير الطلاء ، إلا أنه لا يزال موجودًا ".
Even though it might be hard to see amidst dust and peeling paint, it’s still there.”
كم هو محزن ان تتحول هذه المدينة الى اطلال !!! وسوف يتبقي الحديث عنها وعن الذكريات بها.
How sad that this city turns into ruins !!! And it will keep talking about her and her memories.
هذا المشروع توثيق لحالات المباني في منطقة المكس بالإسكندرية
اعمل على هذا المشروع منذ سنتين وقمت بتوثيق المباني التي توجد بهذه المنطقة اثناء وبعد هدمها ووثقت مراحل هدم عدة مباني مع التركيز
على توثيق الحوائط وبعض التفاصيل للبيوت التي كان يعيش فيها ملاكها لتذكر الذكريات والتاريخ الذي تحمله هذه البيوت
This is a project documenting the houses of El-Max region in Alexandria of Egypt.
I have been working on this project since 2 years. I documented the houses of this region during and after the demolition and documented the demolishing of several houses with a focus on capturing walls and internal details of the houses where residents lived for remembering the memories and history of the houses.
