Martinus Winery - wine packaging

Martinus is a small family-owned winery located at Tagyon Hill, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The vineyards were started to be cultivated by the grandfather of the winemaker, Marci Ruppert. Unfortunately, he died early, so Marci could not have known him personally, but a lot of lovely family anecdotes were attached to him. One of these is how he established the presence of the folk culture in the family – which is still strongly present in the form of folk dance - by playing many instruments. His all-time favourite, the violin is now preserved in the cellar as a relic for future generations. It has become a symbol of winemaking method: while the musician plays his instrument, the winemaker can gently instrument his wine. Marci’s modern winemaking philosophy is associated with a traditional life approach. We kept this duality in mind when designing the wine label for the winery: we intended to present the tradition in a modern form.
A Martinus Birtok egy kis családi borászat Tagyon-hegyen, a Balaton északi partján. Szőlőterületeiket a borász, Ruppert Marci nagyapja kezdte el művelni. Bár ő sajnos korán elhunyt, így Marci nem ismerhette személyesen, de sok kedves családi anekdota kötődik hozzá. Ezek közül az egyik, hogy a családban egyébként is erősen jelen lévő népi kultúrát – néptánc hagyományok – hogyan alapozta meg az, hogy nagypapa milyen sok féle hangszeren játszott. Kedvenc hangszerét, a hegedűjét a család a mai napig a pincénél őrzi ereklyeként, és egyfajta szimbólummá vált számukra a borkészítés terén is:míg a zenész a hangszerén játszik, addig a borász a bort tudja finoman hangszerelni. Marci korszerű borkészítési filozófiája tradicionális életszemlélettel társul. Borai címkéinek tervezésekor is ezt a kettősséget tartottuk szem előtt: a tradíciók bemutatását, modern formába csomagolva.
