This portrait was shot using my 50 mm. notice how the image is intentionally wider and you can see more of the background. I intentionally shot at a lower camera angle to get a more interesting background with the trees. 

This image was shot with my 75-300mm lens zoomed in at 190 mm. Notice how the background completely goes compressed while the rest of the image is in focus.
