Ray Manzarek- Moonlight Drive

I have been a huge Doors fan for years now. I grew up listening to them, I would sing along when my dad played them in the car, and I'd get excited when they were played on local radio stations. When I got older I became obsessive, I bought all their albums and read any biography or auto-biography I could get my 15 year old hands on. Ray Manzarek was my favorite. He played the keyboards like no other, and you could tell how much making music with his fellow band mates meant to him. Just watching him play was awe-inspiring. I even attempted to make a band with some pals, lovingly named "Zarekstereo". As I got older, my intense worship of The Doors dissipated, but I never, ever stopped loving the band.

When I heard Ray Manzarek passed away I was absolutely devastated.

I never had the chance to watch him play live, I never got to meet him and let him know how much his music meant to me. I expressed myself the only way I know how. It's been about a month now since hes passed on. I still can't believe that its real. I hope that you can some how see this, Ray. I hope you can see how much you, Jim and The Doors changed the face of music forever, and how you have made me who I am today. Thank you.
