Period former hotel converted to apartments

Conversion to Apartments
Some type of sub-title
This former period hotel set just back from the sea front in Weston-super-Mare, had fallen from grace over the years and was being used as an HMO (house of multiple occupation) the graceful features had been partially concealed both behind the usual studwork partitions, but also by hideous bright orange paint! The new owners wanted to rip out the 1960s changes and work with the original building to create a handful of smart spacious apartments. I was called in to help, and after carrying out a full measured survey a sympathetic scheme was developed and negotiated through the planning application stages to achieve a positive result.
This is a desirable location close to the amenities of this seaside town and what was a sad looking eyesore is now an asset  and helps to lift the whole period terrace.
A graceful old building which was in need of help
this fabulous old staircase was 'rescued' after being painted bright orange for many years!
after the building was carefully measured, the floor plans were drawn up and from there we could see how to reorganise the interior to give five spacious apartments
