The colors of Istanbul

THE COLORS OF ISTANBUL
Shawarma, coffee, flea & street markets, lots of  cats, delights, mosques, colorfulness. If somehow after reading all these words, yo did not think of  Istanbul, you probably have not travelled there yet. It was my second time being in Turkey, when I visited Istanbul for the first time. I finally got more of a cultural experience, than a hotel experience. And I am sure you know, Turkey is famous for its'  wonderful "all inclusive" hotels.  However, let's go back to Istanbul.  Istanbul is located on the shores of the Bosphorus Strait, which is dividing it into European  and Asian parts. Both parts are connected by bridges and tunnels. That actually explains why the city is so diverse and does have influence from both Europe and Asia.

The best thing to do in Istanbul is just actually to walk around. You definitely would find lots of picturesque streets and districts to visit. However, it all depends on the weather. Going there in the end of March, I faced lots of rains
Before coming to Istanbul, I actually didn't know about "the cats" situation over there. And walking in the street of Istanbul on my first day, I was just wondering: "Is it just me seeing it, or the cats are literally everywhere?"
But they actually are. There is even a movie about cats of Istanbul, that gives some information on that topic. Anyways, they are very cute there and definitely photogenic
The markets in Istanbul is whole another topic. It is like going to a museum. Even if you are not going to buy anything, you should still go and enjoy the window shopping there. The colors and the beauty of the things around make you feel like you are in some sort of "Aladdin" movie. However, try to be cautious, if you do not
aim buying things. They really know  well how to sell in this country.  And one moment, and you are walking back home with a lamp, a carpet or whatever could be sold there.
Do you know that there are 3113 mosques in Istanbul?  Just one trip to this city definitely is not enough if you are aiming to visit all of them, however, you can capture a lot of mosques, because almost wherever you turn, you would see one. The great fact is that  in the most cases you can appreciate the beauty of the mosques both inside and outside. The atmosphere inside is very peaceful and harmonious
The famous Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque). On of the most impressive buildings in Istanbul.
The are around is also very beautiful. In the spring there are lots of flowers blooming.
Sometimes you would still see dogs :)
Turkish sweets are famous around the world. "That is incredible!"- the first thought I got after tasting it. You can go to a special store or just to the market, there is still going to be a big variety of desserts.
In the evening it is really nice to walk close to the Bosphorus Strait. There you can get a good view of the city that comes with the seagulls, beautiful architecture, and lots of people fishing.
I believe the most famous dish in Turkey is "Shawarma". You can find it almost everywhere, and most of the places have the good one. While walking in the Bosphorus strait area you would find the one with fresh fish. It is definitely the "must have" in Istanbul
Hope you enjoyed the story, and you are already plannig to visit this magnfcent city!
Thank you for your attention!
