The iN-Ear headset was developed for MRIaudio, Inc. It’s purpose is to deliver music and communication to MRI patients undergoing head scans.
Design Overview
This headset uses a pneumatic system to deliver sound to the patient through PU foam ear tips. Disposable ear tips attach to connecting audio stem, which is ergonomically angle to fit to the patient’s ear canal.
The ear tips are designed with an inner silicone liner that channels audio to the ear. The ear tips are rated up to 29 Db of NRR for patient safety. MRI machines can produce up to 110 Db, which can damage patients hearing after short term exposure.
