The original version of my photo-realistic digital portrait painting of Captain Jack Harkness (Torchwood) played by TV actor John Barrowman
The Stage paint is presented in two stages. On the left is how I was initially going to present this piece. A loose portrait without the edge-to-edge finish. But, later on in the process, I revisited the piece again and decided to add Captain Jack's synonymous RAF coat, using references from various sources. This also allowed me to add in those lovely authentic RAF buttons. (see below).
I also never believe in shying away from the many great things that PS has to offer in it's default section, so I've also taken advantage of some of its textures and applied them, where necessary, to give a more authentic finish to the fabric.
The Alternative Version — As I'm sure you can appreciate, (and is hopefully evident), it wasn't a project undertaken in just a few hours. NO PAINTOVERS HERE!
