IntelliConnect by Eaton remote diagnostics provides near real-time monitoring of vehicle fault codes and prioritizes critical events. Users can track individual vehicles, create and manage fleets, and make informed decisions about the care and maintenance not only of their Eaton transmission, but the entire vehicle.
My responsibilities within Eaton was the daily management of IntelliConnect and to foresee opportunities to expand upon the product. We made many reaching achievements.
First, we worked on efforts to allow the user to modify the values
of a transmission within IntelliConnect. Previously this had to be completed through an adjoining application. Adding this feature allowed the user to stay within a single application and
make calibration and software updates as they see fit.
Following the modification of values, we began the process of calibration comparison's and application. A user could compare calibrations (made within the Modification of values section) of itself or other vehicles and even apply that comparison to a source (individual or group). This was a great asset to managers who simply wanted to mimic the performance of a vehicle without having to complete a handful of tasks to match accordingly.
We then wanted to expand the the values one might make and archive them for later use, either applied or reference. The answer to this was the creation of templates. A user could create and store specific templates, such as specific performance requests that matched seasons of the year, and apply those templates to individual or grouped vehicles.
Finally, we wanted to cut the cord. Currently, requests and updates could only be applied via physical connections to a network. That meant a user who might have applied a value might have to wait days, weeks or months until a vehicle checked into a service bay. With Over the Air (OTA), these requests could be received from the vehicle and applied when the operator sees fit, or the next time the vehicle is is started.
