Depuis 2017, les 38 stations de métro de Toulouse sont illustrées par des images. Ces visuels de reconnaissance permettent aux personnes en situation de handicap et/ou qui sont dans l’impossibilité de lire, de se repérer et se déplacer dans le métro de manière plus simple et autonome.
Ce dispositif est inédit en France.

Since november 2017, the metro stations of Toulouse are illustrated by pictures. Through these visual cues, the orientation is easier for people as they can identify the stations through the pictures. Consequently, it makes it accessible to every nationality/ to foreigners and disabled people as they are then independent.
This device is unprecedented in France.

Toulouse est une ville culturellement riche. Ce projet vient révéler aux usagers du métro son patrimoine, son histoire et sa richesse. Derrière chaque visuel se cache une anecdote sur la station ou sur le quartier. A chaque histoire, sa traduction graphique.
Les noms des stations de métro font référence à :
- Une anecdote sur le lieu. Par exemple, la station Canal du Midi est associé à une péniche.
- Une anecdote occitane. En occitan, Esquirol signifie écureuil. Cet animal représente la station de ce quartier toulousain.
- Une anecdote sur un personnage. La station Mermoz est illustrée par un avion, car elle fait référence à l'aviateur Jean Mermoz.

Toulouse is a culturally rich city. This project is inspired by its heritage. For the all users, this pictures allow to know more about the history of the city. Indeed, every pictures were inspired by anecdotes of the places.
The names of the subway stations refer to:
- The history of the place. As an example, the station Canal du Midi is associated with a houseboat.
- An Occitan translation. (The Occitan language is an old Romance language, still used in Toulouse: street signs, bilingual French-Occitan sound announcements in the underground.)
For example, in occitan, Esquirol means "squirrel". This animal illustrates the station of Esquirol district.

- A personality. Jean Mermoz was an aviator. So, the Mermoz station is represented by a plane.

Ce projet a été imaginé avec Lara Clerc, lorsque nous étions étudiantes au lycée des Arènes (Toulouse). Il a été finalisé avec et pour Tisséo Collectivités, en collaboration avec des historiens et des associations de personnes en situation de handicap.
