I don't find it easy to pose objects to look random, patterns and order always seem to impose themselves.

As a way to creat some interesting compositions of my new pair of Adidas Runfalcon trainers, I decided to hand over to physics and see what happened when i simply threw the trainers up in the air and photographed them in mid flight. My Bowens XMT flashes have the ability to sync up to extrememely high shutter speeds, so i could shoot at a 2000th of a second and freeze their motion.

My girlfriend proved yet again why she's the love of my life by kneeling on the floor and repeatedly throwing a pair of trainers in the air for me.

This generated all sorts of interesting compositions that I could work with. I also changed the colour of the background for the final images to create more variety, and produced a small set of very poppy, vibrant shots of the shoes.
