Happily Ever After Land
This project was a type of mapping project. I chose to make a fairy tale map because of the irony of the limitations of world famous fairy tales and their similarities with each other. As a little girl, I used to love hearing my favorite fairy tales and dreaming of being a princess, and thus living the life after meeting a prince. While this book shows the sarcasm of the same endings in fairy tales, the guache paintings evokes the feeling of reading a children book.
I limited my selection to Disney fairy tales: Beauty And The Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel. The respective princesses were indicated by threads and end at the prince's castle. The left side of the book contains information about the indications between the color of threads and symbols of the princesses along with descriptions about the map. The right side shows the map of the princesses' paths in their life through the use of three dimensional panoramic paintings.
