Shahram's Study
In Collaboration with Nida Shahid Mansoor
A small interior design project commissioned by Shahram Rasool for the design and consultation of his study room. The challenge was to produce a system of shelving that has its unique characteristics, yet does not overpower the room or the objects to be kept on the shelves. The solution was to treat the whole wall plane as a system of monolithic shelves as clean white strokes against the concrete textures. Each shelf has been fitted with concealed lighting underneath to illuminate the books subtly. The window in the room was also transformed into a deep niche with a padded sitting platform above the sill.
