Nudo de trastes para viola da gamba (tipo “lazo”)
Este tipo de trastes puede ser quitado y recolocado en su sitio con facilidad. Esta particularidad permite que se pueda ajustar el nudo, girar el traste o quitarlos todos para limpiar o rectificar la tastiera pudiendo recolocar nuevamente cada traste en su sitio.
Desconozco el origen de esta singular manera de atar la tripa. No es un invento propio sino que fue encontrado en una viola bajo en el taller de Ivo C. Iuliano en Rovereto (IT) en el año 2006 durante mis prácticas. Desde entonces es el tipo de nudo que uso en mis violas.
Viol fret (loop kind)
This sort of fret can be took off and reset in its place easily. This feature allows to tight the knot, turn the fret or take them allaway to clean or rectify the fingerboard.I don't know the origin of this particular way of tying gutstrings for frets.
This kind of knot is not my invention, it was found on a bass viol at Ivo C. Iuliano workshop in 2006 during mytrainings. Since then this is the kind of knot I use for my viols.
Al ajustar el nudo se puede evitar el uso de suplementos como papel, cuero o madera entre la tripa y el mango de la viola para mantener el traste en su sitio. Simplemente quitando el traste y recortando el largo de la tripa desde una de sus puntas se reduce su recorrido logrando que el traste quede en su posición con una buena tensión.
This kind of fret knot allow to be tighten avoiding the addition of paper, leather, wood or any extra material between the gut and the viol neck to hold the fret in place. Simply taking off the fret and burning off a small portion of the gut string by one of their ends the length is reduced achieving the fret stays in its position with a good tension.
