As COVID-19 swept through NYC I was hit with questions and concern about life in the epicenter of the pandemic. It was difficult for me to explain the complexity of a city with extreme levels of privilege and nonprivilege. So my team reached out to folks to get their take. Soon we wanted to know how the communities we’d been connected to were feeling. From creatives to healthcare professionals we wanted to let our friends know how we were feeling outside of our small circle without the lens of sensationalism or the drama of relatives.

Listening to folks that could be your friends but aren’t yet was powerful so we wanted to share how they were feeling.
We then went to capture the folks in our cities to see how they were living. Lead by our Royce Paris, we wanted to capture more than the apocalyptic view that the world was seeing. Don’t get it twisted, it’s bad out there. But people are still living through the fight.
