Slip Stool
For this project the class mandate was to design a stool within certain size constraints to provide an introduction to CNC machining. Elizabeth Crafton and I created the resulting 14” tall stool which can be stacked six high at a rotational increment of 20 ̊. The seating surface is CNC routed from a 12x12x1.75” piece of hard maple, the legs are then cut from the remainder of the plank. Software used was Rhino, Solidworks, Brazil, and Mastercam.
