As the vice president of outsourcing for Cameo Corporate Services Limited, Ashok “Ash” Bagdy heads its Healthcare Outsourcing Division from his office in Florida. He has led the company to notable reductions in employee turnover and production costs, and has helped expand it into new territories. An active philanthropist outside of work, Ashok Bagdy supports charitable organizations including Ekal Vidyalaya.
A grassroots nonprofit and development organization, Ekal Vidyalaya utilizes a holistic approach to improving the quality of life for residents of rural India and Nepal. As part of its commitment to eliminate illiteracy in the region, Ekal Vidyalaya works with various trusts to fund projects such as a Digital Literacy Training Center that prepares students for job opportunities in the 21st century.
From the Digital Literacy Training Center, students are able to take three-month courses that cover basic topics such as accounting, word processing, and spreadsheets. Graduates of the course can leverage their new skills to apply for jobs with government-certified Computer Service Centers, as well as to pursue certification with the IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorials group.
