Origin of Species is a taxonomy of evolving objects. Lamp-like objects have been “uncovered” or excavated and studied through an anthropological lens. As a series, the lamps relate in appearance, with subtle changes functionally and aesthetically that suggest the evolution of the objects. While the compositional elements of the lights are often the same (bulb, cord, shade), their typologies infer a hierarchy of development.
