"Her Body and Other Parties" is a collection of short prose by American writer Carmen Maria Machado. A provocative and sophisticated debut that brilliantly breaks the boundaries between magical realism and fantasy, humorous prose and horror. Machado's prose reveals the special innermost aspects of femininity and female maturity. These are emotional and frank stories of women's experiences, centered on the themes of sexuality, objectification, the tyranny of the canons of beauty, misogyny, physical and psychological violence. 

The main concept of cover design is the imitation of vintage Soviet constructor toy on the cover and allegorical assembly instructions  on the front and back flyleaves.
