Rich Picture for Trafford NHS

A Rich Picture I made with Atos Consulting for NHS Trafford in 2006. Trafford was the very first NHS hospital but had many challenges in the early 21st Century.
On one of the site-visits we made to interview stakeholders I noticed a mop-bucket catching drips from a leaking ceiling and asked about it. It turns out the roof had been leaking for a long time but there was asbestos in the roof space and to remove it safely would mean closing that main corridor and the adjoining wards. Without the medical wards the A&E department couldn't operate and the Hospital's entire function would be affected.
I never found out why the bucket had "Joe" written on it. The main entrance did have that hand-written sign on it.
I have often thought that Rich Pictures are like cave paintings, where representations of successful hunts ensured future success by the "magic" of positive thinking, envisioning what the future would look like. How can you move towards a positive future if you don't know what good looks like?
