when the world was still in black and white several attempts where made to find the color.
for many decades painters have compensated the grayness of the images by hand coloring directly on the films.
most of the time the painter was not the one that took the photo.
the painter had to guess the colors of a scene, sometimes starring a world far from the one he knew.
