The objective of this course ‘Craft Design Project’, was to use design as a means of intervening in a textile tradition and,
TO STUDY THE EXISTING SYSTEM AT CHANDERI WEAVING SOCIETY AND TO RESTORE THE FAITH OF WEAVERS IN HANDLOOM WEAVING.
The aim was also to explore whether design intervention could restore the faith of weavers in handloom weaving as their livelihood. In addition to this suggesting some design inputs in product development after a complete study of the market base which in turn should excite the makers about the work that they are doing.
