Wrapped In Aura, Grand evening created in honor of the 2019 MET Gala theme "CAMP". Color story and shape inspired by ocean waves and creatures.
Materials used: Brocade and tulle
PROCESS
For this look, I was very fabric-drape driven. I played with creating depth in the brocade and exploding the tulle in areas that were organic by the way materials behaved. After having played with the brocade, I decided to keep the silhouette simple for the brocade by letting the tulle take over and especially explode within the godets and back. The color of the tulle picks up and enhances the iridescent cool tone of the brocade. There also is a build in corset structure within the inside of the dress for support.
