Rana temporaria (common name: European common frog) is a semi-aquatic amphibian of the family Ranidae.
Its distribution territory extends throughout Europe to the east up to the Urals, most of the Iberian Peninsula, and the south of the Balkans.
In Italy it can be found in the Alps and in the northern Apennines.

This specimen was photographed inside the Regional Park of "Montevecchia e Valle del Curone", in northern Italy.
