“Supremo Andro!”
That is what Andro wants to hear when he becomes a sixth grader. Which is why he decided to run as Supremo of the Katipunan.
He did not realize how many things he had to do before he can become Supremo. He did not expect the lessons he had to learn before becoming a leader.
Would his dream of being Supremo come true?
“Supremo Andro!”

kid test version of the lead character Andro (right) and final and book version of Andro (left). I illustrated Andro based on Xi Zuq's description: He sports spiky hair and is smaller than the average 5th grader.

These are the cover designs for the front cover with die cut window. third image is the back design for the book blurb. when i found out that Supremo is a trilogy, i decided to use the 3 colors of the Philippine flag per book. I used red for the first installment of the series in honor of Andres Bonifacio.
chapter illustrations for the book. chapters are divided into diary entries of Andro.
i was allowed to experiment with the illustrations of the book. I used colored and black and white spot illustrations, panel comics and wordless comics. the wordless comics part was the writer's idea. He wanted the whole chapter to be in this format.

there is also a whole chapter that is illustraded by Andro himself.
Citation from the 2016 National Children's Book Awards:
Supremo is an engaging read. This heartwarming story takes you back to the good old days when you felt lucky to have a best friend and you felt tingled upon seeing your crush. Its flowing language, realistic plot, and catchy illustrations come together to give you one unforgettable ride. It makes you laugh out loud; it makes you stop and think; it even manages to make you shed tears. And, just when you start thinking you’ve had it all, it reminds you of your social responsibility―without pushing it down your throat forcibly. Kids will love this, and adults will enjoy it, too. Supreme, indeed! —Portia Padilla
