Present my animated senior project that I have been working on all semester! Enjoy.
While working on the animation, I was able to learn some things after figuring them out while animating. Was kind of like a problem solving. For example, having the ink appear in a specific way for the paths of the character. It wasn't as simple as having no frames appearing like the start of the film, as it was a path and therefore, continuous.
Having a general shape for a character proved to be fun when trying to get the ink feel. I was able to do curves that fit the form!

From the start, I knew I wanted to use a conjunction of puppet animation and using hand-drawn for a paint effect. One hurdle being, figuring out and customizing a brush in the animation program. Originally there wasn't a secondary view of the painter either, but adding that scene leaving and coming back provided some continuity and context for the scenes that follow.
At the time, I was considering it to be black and white throughout, no texture. However, I figured it would be better with color, or at the very least, a wash gray look. In the end, I decided to have color and add texture as well.
