008. Metamorphosis
A series created to demonstrate the often complex and conflicting intersections between artisanal utilitarianism and mass produced factory-based consumerism as an abstract metamorphosis. Through each loop, the lump of clay is transformed into a gilded vessel along the production line, shaped by an invisible potter.
Each image was composed by capturing the shape of the object throughout the its transformation and subsequently compositing and rendering in Adobe Dimension. All of the original meshes, simulations, animations, and keyframe rendering were completed in Maxon Cinema 4D using the Arnold Renderer (by Autodesk). Finally, the animation composting and final editing was completed in Adobe After Effects 2020.
