CARLO ANTONIO AT THE TOP, FROM THE TRICHERAS, HIS BACK AND ROUTINE ROUTINE
Carlo, long time friend, tell me, what projects have you been on?
How about Kit a pleasure to greet you again, thank you for your interest in me and in what I do.
Right now I am in preparation for my first competition of the year that will be the Europa Orlando Pro this May 20 and later I travel to Miami Muscle Beach on June 10.
I understand that you are now with Pepe Paredes from Sport Nutrition, how did that happen?
Yes, I am part of the Sport Nutrition team. The contact was made after my departure last year with my previous team (sponsor) through Charro Lomelí, who I dared to write to him to ask for help to find support to continue competing this year, which provided me in a very attentive and simple introducing me to a great person, the one you already mentioned (Pepe Paredes) who without hesitation accepted me as part of his team, giving me his support for these two competitions in which I am about to attend.
I remember interviewing you when you won your Pro card at the North American Championship two years ago and then took third place at the 2016 Pittsburg Pro Show. What was going through your mind when they called you on the front line?
There are many feelings, at the same time that at the moment you have to hide them to have a good presentation on stage, showing above all a lot of security.
When did you realize that this sport was going to stay with you for a lifetime?
I fell in love with this lifestyle and more when the results in the competitions began to occur from the beginning.
I confess to you that I had thought to stop competing by passing the North America championship, but how could I not continue in this if later in my second year of competing I won the Selective National Championship, Mr. Mexico Absolute and a few days later my professional card abroad.
Why is the Pittsburg Pro Show so important?
I chose to make my professional debut there because in that same city I had won the Pro card a few months before and I thought it was a good strategy to compete again because the judge was going to be from the same area and they were going to locate me easier without ever imagining the magnitude and importance of a competition such as the Pittsburgh Pro, since after Mr. Olympia and the Arnold Classic, it is the most important event for bodybuilding at a professional and world level.
What did you do differently with your preparation this time than other competitions?
To start I changed my coach; Now I am with Óscar Alejandro Domínguez, it was a very difficult decision to make the change of coach, but I not only want to be a competitor, but also a coach and for that you have to keep learning and what better than a coach like Óscar who has demonstrated with facts, taking his wife Sandra Grajales in his first year as a professional to Mr. Olympia and this year he already has his pass.
It is a completely different system to which at first it was difficult for me to adapt, but very effective and I am verifying it with results in my physique, in addition to not only depending on your coach but on how you do things in preparation.

What foods work best for your blood type? Do you think that makes a difference?
I think what makes the difference in the way of eating are the portions should be reduced to between 250 grams and 225 of protein, whether it is breast, fish fillet, beef or salmon and egg whites to avoid stretching, always taking care the waist since in the Men's Physique division they qualify it as very narrow, always accompanied by micronutrients that provide the vegetable and few carbohydrates.
Make 7 to 8 meals a day to keep the metabolism active and avoid catabolizing eating in a time between 2 and a half hours, maximum 3 hours.
What food do you take with you for the day that is easy to prepare and helps you keep your lean mass more?
Right now I am less than two weeks away from competing, it is based on chicken breasts, tilapia fillet, egg whites and vegetables, having just trained a little rice to recover the energy lost in training.
Zero artificial sweeteners such as sugar substitutes (Splenda and Stevia), light soft drinks, chewing gums, protein powder, etc., to avoid inflammation and minimize waist.
What type of body do you have. Ectomorph?
I think I am an Endoform, in each preparation it is very difficult for me to lose the fat and when I neglect the diet I tend to raise it very easily I do not consider myself very genetically graceful, but that makes me enjoy a preparation that despite that I can have a physique to compete It makes me value my effort more.
You are from Puebla, how is the culture of bodybuilding and fitness there?
I am from CDMX, but I have been living in Puebla since I was 7 years old, so I do consider myself a competitor of my AFFEP federation, since since I started competing I always had the support of Mauricio García, its president, to compete at the national level and even even last year to compete at a professional level.
It is a federation with quite a level of athletes who have been very prominent for a long time, such as Héctor Aguilar, Leo Flores, Héctor Hutizil, Alex Hernández and of course, Nora Prado, my fiancée and with whom I started in bodybuilding.
What has been the most rewarding moment in your career so far?
There have been many, but the one that moved me the most, even to tears, was to win the National Championship because I did not believe it, I thought I was not going to win, since I did not have the relationships, influences or levers within the means to achieve it already Despite all that, it was possible. From there came Mr. Absolute Mr. and Pro card.
I know that your wife, Nora, is also very talented and competes, couples who train together or share the same lifestyle and tend to last longer together, do you think this is true? How do you avoid shovels in the most stressful times?
That's right, she also competes as I already mentioned; We start together in this changing our lifestyle, mainly leaving the sleepless, the alcohol and the bad food.
It was at the same time that we decided to move in together, she moving to CDMX and I from my parents' house to an apartment together.
Later, almost at the same time, we decided to compete and that made us discipline ourselves even more, taking the preparation together, from preparing the diet, going to train together and above all enjoying the competitions and triumphs that were given to us alone.
As an anecdote, I tell you that in our first year competing, we would go to all the competitions we could, be it state, municipal, etc., we even went to two a week, we even went to Monterrey, the Railroad, Nayarit Copa Vizcaya, Querétaro, in Mexico City (various events) among others. All of this made a relationship stronger each time. Until today we are committed and with plans to get married and have a family together.
“I share with you the routine I recorded for you, from my coach Óscar Domínguez:

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
It is a little difficult to answer, but I would like to set up my own gym, have my team of athletes, but above all already married and with a son and of course being able to say that I have already gone to a Mr. Olympia.
If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
Stubborn.
Do you use supplements? Which is your favorite and why:
I think that the most basic supplements that can never be lacking is protein powder, which can also be supplemented by solid food provided by the whites, breasts, fish and meat and the branched amino acids BCAA, already in order of L-glutamine, creatine, L-carnitine, linoleic acid CLA, thermogens (burners) and nitric oxide are important, these last two can be replaced with coffee.
