The front cover uses the image of a lone businesscard on a table surface, something which is not out of the ordinary in the life of Patrick Bateman. On closer inspection however we find something more sinister. The business card has (under the words Pierce & Pierce instead of mergers and acquisitions) murders and executions written on it relating to Patricks twisted view of the world around him. The back cover features a chaotic mess of Patricks business cards with his real details on, this mirrors his life.

 

The business card does the job of representing the idea of Patrick Bateman, which he has to project in normal society even though, as he states " I simply am not there."
