I wanted to create a postcard as a personal project, and to celebrate Colorado Springs.  I thought an image of Garden of the Gods was the obvious choice, but also wanted to give the project a sense of history, so I did some image manipulation to desaturate and weather the photo, added some texture and folds. I also did custom 3-D lettering for “Westward” with a subtle topographic map pattern in the letters. Lastly, I paired it all with two other fonts I thought would work well to carry the message.
