Wormald, a leader in fire protection and equipment, approached us with the brief to design and produce the training materials for a customer service training initiative. The brief itself was open-ended and required us to come up with the name, theme, branding and visual package, to be rolled out to all staff nationwide.

One of the key requirements was that the materials be visually engaging for staff on all levels; Wormald had little success in the past with standard training manuals and collateral and were after something more edgy and modern.

We brainstormed as a team to come up with the name of the programme and eventually
Journey was born. I was chosen as lead creative on the project and developed a look and feel that inspired its audience - my main goal was to create the feeling of adventure; staff were on a journey toward upskilling and I wanted the materials to reflect that.

Journey has been hugely successful, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from both the client and the staff who have undertaken the programme. An Australian version is currently in the works.
A theme of excellence and precision is reflected in the Journey logo.
Human photography is combined with surreal landscape imagery to give the Employee Workbook an epic, adventurous feel.
Large quotes reinforce the message of each Workbook chapter.
Precise, sharp angles suggest excellence and are used throughout the Workbook.
