DIGITAL PAINTING
(2015)
Study
I first started digital painting in college as a part of my curriculum. We began with multiple painting studies which involved replicating images, quick paints and light study. From there we proceeded to making a final concept art and I continued with making personal digital paintings as well.
The studies which involved replicating different textures and making a scale down painting. We were giving specific time limits for the studies ranging from 3 to 5 hours.
1. Bengal Cat Fur Texture study
The left image is the original photo reference and the images on right show my progress.
Other studies were done with similar method. We mainly focused on simple hard and soft brushes. Customizing properties of brushes, opacity and flow values and also stylus pressure and angle properties.
2. Fruit texture study: Custard apple
3. Metal texture study
3. Scaled down painting
For scaled down painting we had to recreate the painting in a short amount of time. The details could be altered but the likeliness of the painting, eye catching elements, texture and treatment of the painting had to be maintained to make it recognizable and comparable.
THANK YOU!
