The Good and the Bad of Bottled Water

This infographic is a college design assignment, and in this assignment we're focusing on Information Design, pulling together an infographic about bottled water based both a given set of 5 facts plus 5 facts that we choose ourselves.

For my infographic, I decided to play on the typical idea that "mountain springs" are the direct source of the cold, clear, refreshing bottled water we enjoy. Really, it all gets sent off for treatment, so I thought a series of pipes might be a good way to not only treat and transport the water to where it's bottled, but would also help break the page up into sections.

I built a bottling station within the graphic that fills the bottles up and caps them (with the bottles traveling from right to left), and then once the bottles are empty (presumably from being consumed by the public), then the empty bottles are placed on another conveyor belt and dumped into the ocean.

The ocean acts as the halfway point in the graphic, splitting the thing in half and giving the change to both continue telling the story while also changing the scenery. We start to see more and more sea life appear as we scroll down, until we hit the ocean floor at the bottom to wrap up the graphic.

Below is the full graphic in it's entirety:
