Urban Design: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

This is the final presentation for the Design Studio 4 of the sixth semester of the School of Architecture at Aristotle University, Thessaloniki (AUTH). The design process began by studying the current state of the whole university campus, resulting in a proposal of actions to improve the environment of the biggest Greek campus. Then, a thorough urban design process took place in a selected area, with drawing plans varying from scale 1:500 to 1:100. The title of this project, "AUTH Square Market", reveals the concept behind it: the design of a Square, of a public space, with its form drawing influence from the strict facades of the modern buildings surrounding the area. The main use of this square is a Market, placed in the big linear axis which connects the two different grids formed on the square.
