Start and finish date of the thru-hikers. Each line represents 1 hiker. The majority of people start the hike in Georgia and end in Maine. Others start in the middle and hike North, then come back to the middle and hike South, or start the hike in Maine and finish in Georgia.

The elevation gain and loss from start to finish. Significant points on the trail are marked.

Thru-hikers favorite and least favorite parts of the trail vs. the parts they thought were the easiest and hardest. This data is interesting to look at when comparing it to the elevation.
