The idea for Café Reuben started with the story of the ever-evolving land - Ho Chi Minh City. In my eyes, it is a place where the old meets the new, the roots of history feeds the fruits of cultural bloom, the people ever open-mindedness and flexibility allows a wildly dynamic and explosively enabling environment.
Approaching the concept for Café Reuben, I'm of the mindset that materialistic objects are not always rigid, immobile and unemotional. The concept of this place is that of a dance. A dance of the old, trusted materials and the new, inventive ones; of the concrete and solid and the transparent and light; of intertwining memories of the past and the present.
