The Bearded Bagel Cafe

Large, hanging wooden signs inside the store for people to decide what they would like to eat. If this were to be made in real life, all the type would be laser engraved.
The website for my cafe. Meaning to be open and simple. It reflects a place where one could relax and have a good time, like at the Bearded Bagel.
The first cafe I researched and photographed, Pablos Coffee.
The second, very spacious cafe I went to, to research and photo document.
The third, very cozy cafe I researched and photographed.
The best parts from each cafe.
I went to East 13th Ave. and took around 100 photos of the street. I combined them into a grid of thumbs so I could see the general outlook of the environment.

I also interviewed three different people about why the liked the street and what they would do to improve it.
After interviewing people from the streets, I took to a corporate and an independent coffee shop to interview customers. I gave them fictional names to hide their identity. I then graphed out their main likes and dislikes.
Toby is a fictional customer and I used him as the model for my ideal user.
The interior is meant to be large and open, but with a "homey" feel reminiscent of small NYC style bagel shops.
The seating would be filled with comfortable red leather chairs so people to relax in. During music shows, the chairs would be put elsewhere. The wood aesthetic would be found throughout the restaurant.
The bar area would act as a bar in the evening, but a diner-style wrap around where coffee and bagels would be dispersed and conversations would be had.
The stage would be small and intimate, to help grow and friendly atmosphere where the patrons feel like family.
