    The 8BitX Network has been around in one form or another for the good part of 6 years. Started in a college dorm room and subsequently college radio, it all started with a single show (the “8 Bit Extravaganza”). Eventually, with more show’s coming under the same family, it was decided to take that little show and expand it into a full-fledged radio network. The branding is meant to follow the loud, bombastic nature of the network’s shows. It’s bold colors were taken from a sampling of video games, but eventually settling on a pallet inspired by Super Mario Bros. 3. The tagline “Geeks. Games. Culture. Start” was chosen to help push the network (originally exclusively playing video game music, cover music and original Chip Tunes genres) into a network hosting shows such as the Jurrassic Hour (a variety show), the Black Tribbles (and strange mix of talk and African-American nerdy) and 8BitSex (a show giving sex and relationship advice to often clueless gamers and geeks).
