Thesis project for IED Barcelona and Brands & Roses. The mission was to create, develop and produce a gastronomic mook (Book + Magazine) of 300 pages that comes in two languages (Spanish & English) and is published once a year. Read Less

"Cream - this is not a cookbook - " comes in both soft and hard cover. The size of the mook is 18.5 * 24 cm what makes it easy to carry around.
 
The cover reflect the concept behind the creation of this gastronomic mook : temptation.
 
The first cover also reflects the idea of a birth of the magazine
For the cover we have decided to use only sensual photos of a decontextualized part of the body submerged or dripping in some liquid like milk, juice etc.
Something elegant and provacative at the same time and something totally different from the other mook, book magazine that talk about food or gastronomy
Each issue is identify by color instead of the number as is usual. We think that this adds value to cream as a collectable publication. The first one is peach issue, the second one will be lilac issue.
This is not a typical index that the readers are used to seeing in magazines and books. Instead we put the name of the section and a little description about it to give the readers an insight on what the section is about and still keeping it opened to their interpretation. 
 
Our gastronomic mook consists of 13 sections taking the naming in unconventional direction:

4. Once upon a time
5. Foodporn
6. Natural touch
7. Weird you go
8. Curiocity
9. Liquid gold
10. Skin

Cream is a bilingual publications and comes in two languages (English & Spanish)
Typography used inside are Caslon, Futura and Bodoni to express elegant and classic style and to contrast with a strong concept of tempation.
We also try to make your life easier by giving you the recipes that you can take out and use in the kitchen rather than taking the whole mook with you.
The insert is an additional booklet that comes with the mook. Its style and format is very contrasting to the mook. Every issue it concentrates on Food and another creative field such as design, fashion, cinema. The first one is about food and music. Just like the mook its comes in two languages (English and Spanish)
