Covid Chronicles. Spain. A Day in Málaga.
The days were gorgeous in Málaga — 24°, sun high in a cloudless sky. It was early March and the pathways lining the beaches were busy with walkers, skaters, and cyclists; the beachside restaurants were filled. This was Andalusia in southern Spain, in the second week of March, 2020. It was simply perfect. 
One week later a state of emergency had been declared, 
Spain and every other EU country had shut down, and my plans changed.
Here's what I saw on one of those P.C. days (pre Covid) in Málaga — around the city, along the water, at the market, and having lunch at the Gran Hotel Miramar — with little indication of the international crisis that was to come.
