Bilinmeyenden Medet/ Bilinmeyenden Medet was produced based on wish trees, a tradition born of Shamanism. The sculpture/installation created with mixed technique creates the illusion of a sacred tree with metallic elements, cloth rags and wishes attached to it represent the self of the person who binds it. The installation aims to create a sensory experience for the viewer. The combination of real tree branches with silver leaves, metal buds and metal soil distinguishes it from other trees, sanctifies it in the eyes of the individual, as in wish trees, and creates the belief that it will cure all kinds of problems and wishes. It examines why individuals turn nature into a myth and worship their own imaginations, from ancient times until today, which has been in turmoil. It sanctifies nature, which has the power of self-healing, with myth-like narratives, and explores the change of individuals' memory within a knitted world.
Mixed Media/ Cardboard, fabric, twig pieces 60 x 80 cm
