About the Poster's concept:
What is the story behind the poster?
The Wall is the continuation of the Zionist/Israeli expansionist agenda of stealing Palestinian land and forcibly expelling residents, the Wall’s path annexes nearly 50% of the West Bank and almost all of the Israeli settlements.
It is entirely unacceptable to build the Wall on the 1967 Green Line, there is a fundamental injustice in caging an entire population. Under Article 1 of the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid (1979) the Wall constitutes a “Crime against Humanity”. It divides populations on the basis of raceand ethnicity and discrimination against residents in the West Bank tobenefit illegal Israeli settlers and thus complies with the definitionof “apartheid”.
The human body symbolizes the people and land of Palestine; the (kuffeyeh) around the neck symbolizes Palestine; the reclining of thebody with the hand on the back portrays pain and suffering and the wallis a sign of destruction, burden, and mayhem of Israel. Combining the symbols creates a situation were Palestinians are suffering directly and indirectly from the wall built on their land. It is a burden on the back of each individual Palestinian.
