TournEvent NOW is a variation on the Everi flagship casino product: TournEvent. Original TournEvent is a product that allows casino operators to run slot machine tournaments as exciting events or fun promotions to their best customers. In 2018 Everi came up with the idea to expand this product with TournEvent NOW. This version allows asynchronous play for those whose casino player cards have flagged them as potential entrants into a tournament.
When the player sits at an Everi slot game and inserts their player card. This pop up appears to show them what available games they have in potentially active tournaments or if they've played their round already, when the next is available. They are then able to swap from the in-revenue game on that machine, play the tournament on their own, then have their score added to the tournament scoreboard! Scoring high enough compared to others could potentially allow them advancement to further games or prizes determined by the casino.
The part pictured here was the meat of the work on my end as designer, working with product managers and game developers to come up with a user interface that could be used to explain the potentially confusing new product.
Here is a pair of sample game screens when in play. TournEvent games are usually simplified versions of other Everi slot machine games. Their bonus features are mostly removed to allow for quick, fast paced game play. The TournEvent NOW system is able to use most of these games as well, but here I've made some edits to the UI to accommodate necessary changes.
When a round is over the player is given a voucher to bring to a casino operator before they are then returned to the original
in-revenue game to play as normal.
Lastly, here is a promotional video from Everi to help explain what TournEvent is. Even though it doesn't directly show TournEvent NOW, as one of the main artists to work on TournEvent from about 2017 on, it does include some of my additions (such as the countdown animation when the round begins!)
